This is freakin awesome. Let me know if you guys want some help with ideas or whatnot. Something I wanted to suggest would be code generation for vbulletin boards (bbcode) so that people could use this tool on many of the forums out there.

This would be awesome if you integrated with Facebook, and let the clips show up on my profile page!

Thank you for your suggestions! We investigate the feasibility of whether we can make kwout available for vbulletin boards and facebook or not.

Great tool, thanks. One thing I do quite often is to send a small screenshot via email if I want to point out a problem, or question, to a colleague.

Is there a way I can use Kwout to help me with this? I use Gmail, but I expect other users would also find this helpful for whatever email client they use.

Didn't work 4 me :(

System Specs:

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (32bit),

Browser: IE7 or Firefox 2.0.0.11

Avira Antivirus Personal Edition, no other security related application.

Hi Andy,

That's a good idea, thank you! The feature of emailing a screenshot is definitely useful. We will incorporate your idea to next version of kwout.

Webmaster said...

Hi jtsoukaris,

Could you please let us know the URL you couldn't quote ? or didn't it work at all ? Anyway, we will look into the problem. Thank you for your report!

I'll look forward to that enhancement, thank you. And again, congrats on a great tool.

I am a lecturer and it would be great to link this easily into Powerpoint as often we use screen grabs for web sites rather than link directly. Any thoughts on when this might happen. Great product.

SnagIt + web + tinyURL = kwout?

Anyway, I second the thought regarding vbulletin code.

Also, how about a customer service use case? When a site user has questions or problems I think this would be a great way for he/she to help describe the problem.

Webmaster said...

Hi mark,

When... We are sorry we can't say when it happens at this point. But, we are sure that the portability to Powerpoint is very useful at some cases. So we will probably implement it in the near future.

Hi woody,

Thank you for your suggestion! Yes, we are actually exploring use cases that you pointed out. In general, a graphical representation is very useful to describe a problem. We will improve kwout somehow, so that it will naturally fit the customer service use cases.

When I click to create a bookmarklet, nothing happens, whether I click on same window or new window.

I'm using Firefox (latest update) on Mac OSX. I also tried it on my Windows machine (Firefox and IE) and no bookmarklet came up.

Webmaster said...

Hi Pauline,

Thank you very much for your bug report! Did you install our bookmarklet to your browser's toolbar? If you did not, just clicking a link (bookmarklet) does nothing. So please make sure that our bookmarklet has installed.

Great concept. Unfortunately when I create an image, the links are live, but when I export (embedded and via Flickr) they are dead. Not sure what it is that I am doing wrong here, as others seem to be able to get it to work.

This is a great tool!
Although, for some reason, it does not capture a full, Flash site.

Webmaster said...

Hi lance,

Thank you for your bug report! As for Flickr, it doesn't accept hyperlinks in uploading an image, so kwout can't export hyperlinks. As for your web site, it might be a bug. So we will check it out.

Webmaster said...

Hi zaida,

Could you please give us an URL that you couldn't grab? We will check it out, and improve kwout to grab a Flash-based web site more properly.

Sarah Stewart said...

Hi, can you help? Nothing happens when I point my browser onto the bookmarlet link so I cannot download it. thank you Sarah

Webmaster said...

Hi Sarah,

Can you try following steps?
1. right-click on the link. a popup menu should appear
2. select "Bookmark This Link" (or something similar) to add the link to your bookmarks
3. click the "kwout" bookmarklet from your bookmarks on a web page you want to quote

If it doesn't work, could you let us know your browser and OS?

I just learned about your app from a high school media specialist. Does Kwout work with WikiSpaces?

Webmaster said...

Hi Christina,

Thank you for your question.

It seems kwout works well with WikiSpaces.
Please see a quick "how-to" page that we put on WikiSpaces.

Kwout does not work with Firefox 3.5. Are there any plans to get an upgrade?

Hi there, I love your add-on for Firefox and use it constantly. When is it available for FF 3.5? Thanks

Hi Frenchdoc,

Thank you very much for your comment. Today we started to support Firefox 3.5. Please update our Firefox add-on.
